Guilford Township, PA

Norlo Park, Guilford Township, Franklin County, PA. From I-81 follow Route 30 East approximately 5 miles to the park on the right. This was a 143 acre dairy farm purchased by the Township. The farm contained an 1880’s farm house, barn and numerous outbuildings. Our firm worked with the Township to create softball and soccer fields and associated buildings that contain restrooms, concessions and tournament oversight facilities. Our firm also completed layout and design of basketball, tennis and volleyball courts, as well as a 3.5 mile walking trail throughout the park.

The existing bank barn has been converted into a venue for weddings and other large gatherings. The existing farm house now houses offices and a meeting room for several non-profit groups. A concrete manure pit was transformed into a picnic area that is adjacent to a newly constructed community center with kitchen facilities. A small scale custom made and functioning railroad was laid out to carry visitors through a portion of the park on Saturday afternoons. We relocated an old railroad bridge to the site as well as an old train station. We designed a train storage and repair shop for the actual train itself. Our firm has provided surveying and engineering services including master plan preparation, detailed design drawings, acquiring PA DEP permits, and construction oversight and stakeout for the improvements noted above.
